Media Branding for an Event

Event Promotion Class Group Project

For my Event Promotions class project, I was tasked with developing a made-up event to promote within my group. I was specifically in charge of developing the graphics for the project overall. Our made-up event is called "Drink Around the Genres" which is an annual music festival along Miami beach's shores where people get to try out alcoholic beverages that have been developed to "look" and "taste" like the music genre they will be listening to throughout the festival.

My role within the group project was to create all the promotional material. On the left is a sample flyer and graphic we would post on our social media to spread awareness about the event. This was where I decided to primarily focus on our style guide to be primarily this aqua blue color with nautical/beach themes in terms of graphic icons.

Here is a sample newsletter we developed for the event. This would be sent out to people that have signed up for a ticket or already subscribed to get updates about the event to further build awareness and hype. Each newsletter would get people more curious about what artists are going to be on the setlist, and it’s exciting because they get to see a sneak peek at some drink designs before the event!

On the left and right are examples of what would be posted as promotional material on our social media accounts. For example, we plan to announce each artist one by one. Next, on the right is a sample story graphic where people can get exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at how we develop our special drinks for the event! This is all done to intrigue people and capture their attention, and it’s kind of like a foot in the door because once they see the drinks they will likely want to try it out for themselves at the event.

Lastly, we had to develop an OOH campaign that would further increase our reach. We developed this idea of a “bar on wheels” where we would have a pirate-looking map sent out to our subscribers and posted on social media with checkpoints of cities we would visit. It would essentially be a truck that has tiny samples of the special drinks we had either served in the past or plan to serve at our next event so people can get another sneak peek at what is to come soon!
